Understanding Future Progressive.

Future progressive is a verb form that states events that will be happening at a certain time in the future or future. The incident has already started, is in progress, but not finished at the time.

Future Progressive Characteristics

- when we use future progressive, our listeners have always known and understood about the time being talked about.

 -structure of future progressive tense: will be + [verb] + ing

- for each negative sentence, we must add "not" between "will" and "be"

- for the sentence of the question, place the subject after "will"

As follows:

Future Progressive Functions

Used to provide information for listeners or readers to understand that statements made in the future but have already begun are still ongoing and will not be completed by then.

Examples and Explanations Concerning Future Progressive

(1) Tomorrow I will start work at 2pm and stop work at 6pm. At 4pm tomorrow, I will be working

Description:

From the example I made above, it can be concluded that future progressive is an activity that will be happening in the future. Why? because it has not happened yet, it will happen tomorrow, but when tomorrow it is in progress but not finished yet.

Another example :

(2) Tomorrow my mother will cook rendang at 1pm and it finish at 3pm. My mother will be cooking rendang at 2pm

*) Future progressive can also be used to declare events to be repeated at the same time. Examples are as follows:

(3) This time I am studying grammar in campus. At this same time a week later, I will be studying grammar in campus

Another example :

(4) I will be walking in next year's Batik Besurek Carnaval

Description:

The above example shows the plan that is done in the future but the plan is in progress. That is, the above activities are "walking"  walking activities are underway in the next year. Different if we make the example above into a simple future as follows:

I will walk next year's Batik Besurek Carnaval

Description:

Well example of simple future above is true, because the activity "walk" was not in progress. The above sentence only indicates that the event or activity will take place or happen in the next year (only planning that is not necessarily the case)

A simple example of future progressive:

(5) I will be playing football at 10pm tomorrow

(6) I will be having dinner at 6pm tonight

Description:

The above example also shows that in using future progressive speakers usually understand or know the time at the time.

So basically if I  make in the real form of use of future progressive this would be like:

"I always go every Tuesday at 4 pm to study grammar until 6 pm on campus, now Monday. I want to tell my friends that I am studying grammar on campus from 4 pm to 6 pm ".

Then use future progressive to be a sentence like the following:

"I will be studying grammar at 5pm tomorrow in the campus"
